Digitising the permit-to-dig process

Published on Print this document

Previously, the permit system was aligned to traditional construction sites or rural areas. The team had to adapt certain aspects of the process, to ensure work could be undertaken safely but realistically on mass concrete roads with little spacing between the underground assets. It was also a challenge to get traditional groundworks/demolition packages to work to the demanding process of exposing all known underground assets, but this was achieved through training and monitoring. The permit system now used is digital and delivered on site by ‘AppCan’, a digital document distribution software. This has allowed CSjv to work smarter and quicker, and more sustainably.

This video highlights how CSjv digitised the permit to dig process.
